Nathan has been working in the PV industry since the first incentive programs were initiated in the United States. Over the past 10 years he has gained experience in: system design, system installation, project management, project development, project finance and PV module channel sales. Along with his depth of experience he has created a strong network in the industry (of distributors, manufacturers, integrators, engineers and financiers). His unique talents and experience afford his customers an informative and efficient experience. Insurance companies, investment bank, legal firms and companies looking to expand into the solar PV market will benefit from his experience. He believes staying in front of incentives and legislation is critical to understanding the ever evolving PV market as well as closely monitoring equipment and installation pricing, information which is essential to all clients.
In 2000 Nathan began his career in the then early stages of the U.S. PV industry. Working with a veteran solar installer Nathan gained firsthand experience installing, designing, selling and managing some of the first grid tied projects in Northern California. Due to relationships with leading distribution companies Nathan was asked to be one of the first members of a commercial integration firm. Nathan gained valuable experience through the development of tools to analysis electric rate tariffs. The integration company expanded to incorporate a finance division where the opportunity arose to sell and finance power purchase agreements totaling $50M in projects.
Moving on from project sales and finance Nathan became a key team member for a European PV manufacturer expanding into the U.S. market. Nathan developed and closed business with new key accounts to solidify a U.S. presence. Working closely with the plant he played a key role in providing market intelligence and recommendation for product features to increase sales.
